The Disinfectant – Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl)

Hypochlorous acid (HOCL) is a powerful oxidant that has been, and currently is, used from the beginning of the 20th century as a healing agent and disinfectant.

HOCl as a liquid-based disinfectant, fogging with hypochlorous vapor has shown to be lethal against a variety of bacteria, fungi, viruses, and pathogens.

HOCl has uses in many industries from farming and restaurants, regarding food, to health care applications, including chronic wound care and disinfection.

The HOCl solution broad antimicrobial action is effective against a wide range of pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2, P. aeruginosa, E. coli, L. pneumophila, and others, with a short exposure time.

Despite its efficacy at killing viral and bacterial pathogens, hypochlorous acid is 100% secure for use by people. It can be used safely around children and animals and does not harm the environment. You do not need to worry about accidental ingestion or contact with your eyes: even in these situations, HOCL is completely benign.

Our Aerosoler C100 unit using HOCl creates 1-5 micron particles of fog that remain airborne and suspended long enough to kill pathogens in the air and surfaces.

HOCl has been approved for use by Health Canada, USFDA, and the European Union.
